8x8 Dragon: a pillar of transformation for the Spanish army

One of Indra Group’s key highlights at Eurosatory 2026 is the 8x8 Dragon armoured vehicle. Developed by TESS Defence (in which Indra is the lead partner), the 8x8 Dragon marks a milestone in the modernisation of the Spanish Armed Forces.

Beyond replacing legacy BMR and VEC platforms, it represents the starting point for a profound transformation in operational, technological and strategic capabilities within the Spanish Army.

Already delivered to the Army, the 8x8 Dragon is designed to operate across all types of scenarios and missions, from conventional operations to expeditionary deployments.

Indra systems integrated into the 8x8 Dragon

At Eurosatory 2026, Indra Group will also showcase the advanced systems integrated into the 8x8 Dragón:

  • Maestre Mission System: responsible for managing all vehicle subsystems and sensors. Its open architecture integrates, manages and exploits operational data, acting as the vehicle’s “brain” by connecting sensors, situational awareness systems, protection systems, weapons and communications, and supporting decision-making.
  • Battle Management System (BMS): fully integrated with Maestre, enabling real-time sharing of tactical information, friendly and allied positions, and data from onboard systems. It enhances situational awareness, accelerates decision-making and ensures interoperability across command levels.
  • 360° Vision and Driver Assistance Systems: providing continuous situational awareness through visible and thermal cameras. By combining electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) feeds and processing them in real time, the system delivers a comprehensive and actionable operational picture. It also incorporates autonomous threat detection to reduce operator cognitive load.

Additionally, Indra will present several AI-driven use cases applied to 360° vision systems, including:

  • LSAS (Local Situational Awareness System): an AI-enabled solution for detecting and recognising targets and threats.
  • See-Through 360° Vision Goggles: an advanced system allowing crew members to “see through” the vehicle’s armour via an immersive real-time visual projection from external cameras.

By continuously analysing the environment and highlighting potential threats, hostile vehicles and safe routes, these capabilities significantly enhance decision-making in complex environments, particularly in urban scenarios where reaction times are critical.

A key role in national and European modernisation programmes

Leveraging the strengths of Indra Land Vehicles and extensive experience, Indra Group arrives at Eurosatory 2026 as a leading force in national land defence programmes, including:

At the European level, Indra also leads major collaborative programmes:

  • FAMOUS (Future Highly Armoured Systems)
  • MARTE (Main Armoured Tank of Europe)
  • AURIGA (Infantry Fighting Vehicle)

UAVs: intelligence, surveillance and action

At Eurosatory 2026, Indra Group will also present systems that expand the capabilities of land combat, such as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, known as drones).

In this regard, the TARSIS VTOL drone stands out, a multi-mission platform designed for surveillance, reconnaissance and intelligence tasks (ISR). Developed and manufactured in Spain, this versatile and highly effective system for different operational scenarios represents Indra Group’s commitment to advanced unmanned platforms.

Developed and manufactured in Spain, it offers:

  • Vertical take-off and landing without infrastructure
  • Efficient fixed-wing flight
  • High endurance and extended operational range
  • Modular, scalable architecture adaptable to mission requirements

The TARSIS VTOL system is part of Indra Group’s TARSIS family of drones, which offers a range of platforms tailored to different mission profiles.

In parallel, loitering munitions have become a critical element in modern conflicts, as they combine surveillance, decision-making and precision strike capabilities within a single system. In this regard, Indra Group will showcase at Eurosatory 2026 a loitering drone capable of neutralising fixed targets at long range, while reducing sensor-to-shooter timelines.

C-UAS: comprehensive counter-drone defence

Indra’s Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) solution provides a comprehensive capability to detect, identify and neutralise drones, protecting both operational environments and critical infrastructure.

The system integrates:

  • Nemus: AESA radar (Active Electronically Scanned Array), whose mission is to detect, identify and track threats in real time, and activate countermeasures before impact
  • SmartEar: radiofrequency sensor that acts as secondary for UAS and detects and identifies the origin of threats
  • OTEOS: daytime and thermal electro-optical sensor, used mainly for the visual identification and tracking of the target

Likewise, it features C-UAS effectors (threat neutralisation mechanisms) such as the Brontes, a jammer for radio link and GNSS signals (soft-kill), and the Guardian 2.0, a weapon station (hard-kill neutralisation).

Land electronic warfare: dominance of the electromagnetic spectrum

Indra Group delivers advanced electronic warfare capabilities across communications and radar bands, designed to ensure dominance in the electromagnetic spectrum and a decisive tactical advantage in high-intensity operations.

Its solutions enable the detection, identification, classification, disruption and deception of adversary radars, data links, radio communications and other critical emitters, both in land deployments and on-board platforms.

Indra Group’s electronic warfare offering is built on a modular, scalable and highly integrable approach, with solutions adaptable to different operational concepts and platforms.

At Eurosatory 2026, Indra Group will present one of its most innovative solutions: a communications electronic warfare system deployed as a payload on a tethered drone, connected to a high-mobility 4x4 vehicle.

The system incorporates ESM (Electronic Support Measures) capabilities for the detection, identification and classification of communication signals, enhancing the tactical advantage over the adversary while protecting friendly forces during manoeuvre.
