Land forces are immersed in a necessary transformation due to the current geostrategic situation, for which new doctrines, new technologies, new challenges, and new capabilities are emerging to confront enemies with varying degrees of technological sophistication and in multi-domain operations.
The Army is the defence of the territory, but it is also diplomacy, national security, and a response to disasters and emergencies. For this, it requires technology that guarantees the fulfilment of the mission and the safety of those who safeguard it.
We respond to the new challenges
The digitalization of combat vehicles through advanced systems such as active protection, situational awareness, and AI-driven command and control systems ensures a superior level of crew protection. These capabilities transform vehicles into robust and resilient platforms, fully interoperable and capable of operating in high-intensity scenarios with optimized situational awareness.
Likewise, the deployment of electronic warfare systems and counter-battery radars has become an imperative requirement to address the new challenges of the modern battlefield. In an environment where all systems are sensorized, networked, and exposed, electromagnetic spectrum dominance translates into a decisive operational advantage. Furthermore, as artillery remains a critical threat in current conflicts, counter-battery radars enhance situational awareness, improve reaction time, and strengthen force protection by significantly reducing casualties and damage to critical infrastructure.
In parallel, the digital transformation of Armed Forces drives virtual training and simulation for platform and system operation, as well as resource planning, mobility, and logistics management.
At Indra, we act as the national coordinator for leading European programs such as EDF FAMOUS, MARTE, LATACC, and ACHILE, enabling us to spearhead the development of key technologies for the future of land defense. Additionally, we have deployed ground-based electronic warfare stations across Africa, Asia, and Europe, and we are Spain’s primary radar supplier.
We are a global reference integrator in land systems. Our state-of-the-art technology is deployed in combat vehicles such as the VCR 8x8 Dragon or the VAC, and we have modernised the systems of platforms like the Leopard 2E and the Pizarro.
